BERLIN, Vt. - Catastrophic flooding in Central Vermont has significantly impacted operations at UVM Health Network - Central Vermont Medical Center and its clinics. An incident command post has been established at the hospital to monitor events and ensure our patients and community continue to receive the care and treatment they need.
The hospital and the emergency department remain open and operational. However, the outpatient dialysis unit and primary and specialty care practices are closed today with very limited phone access. Express Care in Berlin, infusion services on main campus and elective surgeries have been postponed for today. Patients are encouraged to use MyChart for non-urgent communications and access the Emergency Department for emergent issues only at this time.
"Many of our staff willingly stayed at the hospital to ensure operations would continue throughout this major flooding event. I am so grateful for their dedication to the safety and wellbeing of our patients, Woodridge residents and community," said Anna Tempesta Noonan, RN, president and COO of UVM Health Network - Central Vermont Medical Center. "We will continue to provide high-quality care and assist our community throughout this very difficult time. "
UVM Health Network - Central Vermont Medical Center will provide further updates as needed. Additional information is also available from the State of Vermont Department of Public Safety.
