For Visitors

CVMC encourages friends and family members to visit our patients. The support of loved ones is an important part of recovery. But, it is also important for the patient to get enough rest and for the privacy of all patients to be protected.  Please also be aware that CVMC staff may limit or, on occasion, be unable to allow visiting in a particular situation. And please, DO NOT VISIT if you are ill.

Visiting Hours
Each unit has a waiting room for the use of visitors.  For the best possible care, we ask that family or friends are as quiet as possible and supervise children at all times.
  • The specified visiting hours for medical and surgical units as well as for The Birthing Center are 11 am - 8 pm
  • Inpatient Psychiatric Units, visiting hours are 2:30 - 4 pm; 6-8 pm
  • For the Davis Special Care Unit, visiting hours depend on the patient's condition but generally occur from11:30 am - 8 pm
  • Woodridge Nursing Home anytime, 24/7
  • If you are a parent of a hospitalized child, or a family member of a terminally-ill patient, arrangements can often be made to allow you to have 24-hour access.
How may family and friends find out about a patient's condition?
For questions about a patient's condition, family and friends may call the hospital operator at 802-371-4100. In order for any information to be given the patient will need to sign an authorization form. Callers will be connected to the nurses' station or to the patient's room.

Where may family and visitors eat?
Visitors are welcome to eat in the CVMC cafeteria.
Hours there are:
6 am - 7 pm weekdays
6:30 am - 2 pm and 4 - 6:30 pm weekends and holidays
Visitors may order a guest tray, for a charge, if they wish to eat in the patient's room.  Please ask the charge nurse on duty for information.

Can visitors buy gifts and flowers at CVMC?
The CVMC Auxiliary operates a gift shop off the main lobby where cards, flowers and other gift items can be purchased. Proceeds from sales in the gift shop support CVMC's mission support of related community organizations and for the purpose of needed equipment.
Hours of operation are:
9:30 am - 8 pm, weekdays
Noon- 3 pm, weekends and holidays
