Together
Over the past year, our 1,800 employees devoted their enthusiasm, commitment and expertise to a common goal – to making our community a healthier place. In a small state like Vermont, this impact is substantial, directly touching the lives of those we know and love.
Our job as health care providers is to take care of and protect the most vulnerable people in our community – those who are ill. But our commitment to the community extends far beyond a bout of appendicitis or a fractured hip. We are steadfast in our determination to see that all aspects of a person’s health needs are met — their mental health, nutritional well-being and their ability to access care – for as long as they live. That is why in 2016 we again partnered with community organizations to extend the reach of our services.
This type of collaboration exemplifies our vision, which is simple in articulation but profound in its goal — working together, we improve people’s lives. This vision is evidenced in three key strategies:
- Providing the best possible care and delivering a consistently high-quality patient and family experience across our network;
- Investing in our people, both their individual development and their collective strength;
- Partnering with our community and using the resources of our network to create social and physical environments that promote health and well-being for all.
We firmly believe that providing quality health care makes a difference in our community. And we aren’t alone. For our efforts, we were proud to be recognized as one of 2016’s “100 Great Community Hospitals” in America by Becker’s Hospital Review.
On the following pages, discover some recent accomplishments, meet some extraordinary health care professionals and see how, as a team, we really do improve people’s lives.
