The University of Vermont Health Network – Central Vermont Medical Center (UVMHN-CVMC) received the 2014 Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award from the Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. The award recognizes Vermont employers who have made healthy behaviors a priority.
Ellie Traynor a long-time volunteer and later assistant manager of the auxiliary’s gift shop was named “Auxilian of the Year” by the Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary.
In November 2014 The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) gave Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing five stars in their Five Star Nursing Home Quality Rating System.
Dr. Mark Yorra and Granite City Primary Care (GCPC) are now open in their new and expanded location in the Blanchard Block Building on Main Street in Barre. The practice is part of the University of Vermont Health Network - Central Vermont Medical Center (UVMHN-CVMC) group.
Granite City Primary Care is now located in the Blanchard Block on Main Street in Barre in new offices on the 4th floor. “It’s exciting to be part of the Barre Renaissance, said Dr. Yorra. “We are in a classic location with beautiful arched windows overlooking the park.”
The Woodcuts & Pastels by Daryl Storrs, currently on display at the UVMHN-CVMC art gallery through April 10, are inspired by mostly by the Vermont landscape.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Collaborative between the University of Vermont Medical Center and UVM Health Network – CVMC will include onsite support one day per week, including bedside patient care, educational lectures, collaborative development of protocols for uniform delivery of best practices, phone consultations, and creation of a shared quality dashboard.
GMTA and UVMHN-CVMC have partnered to provide FREE shuttle service to the Barre Health Center and beginning March 2015 the Granite City Primary Care in Barre City. Open to the general public and fare free, this service provides flexible transportation to Barre City and Barre Town areas, including Graniteville, East Barre, South Barre and Websterville.
The People’s Health & Wellness Clinic of Barre is expanding the availability of free oral health check-ups for low-income residents of central Vermont, thanks to a major gift from the Central Vermont Medical Center, a member of The University of Vermont Health Network.
