Occupational Medicine Physician
Austin Sumner, MD, MPH, Medical Director Occupational Medicine, attended Louisiana State University Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Environmental and Occupational Medicine. Dr. Sumner has been practicing occupational medicine for more than 10 years and enjoys collaborating with employers, adjusters, attorneys, vocational rehabilitation counselors and other clinical care providers to aid in worker recovery and the safe return to work.

Laurance Thompson, MS
Clinical Psychologist
Larry Thompson, MS is a licensed psychologist-master specializing in behavioral medicine pain management services. His interests include helping injured workers maximize their recovery, improve function, return to productive work and reduce emotional distress. He consults with medical centers and hospitals to develop effective protocols for chronic pain treatment and opioid risk reduction and gives workshops on Pain Management and Disability Prevention to health care providers, attorneys and insurance personnel.

Rebecca Scholl, PA-C received her degree as a Physician Assistant from Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens. She has worked in emergency medicine and family practice. Rebecca enjoys making personal connections with her patients. "I feel when someone is injured on the job it is important to try to keep them working in some capacity as they recover from their injury. It is important to get people not only back to work but also back to the things they enjoy doing in life."

Alison Porter-Cruickshank, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse
Alison Porter-Cruickshank, LPN, COHC received her License for Practical Nursing from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute of Hathorne, MA in 1993, and has been licensed in the state of Vermont since 1994. Alison joined CVMC’s Occupational Medicine Department in 2015. There, she works as the Nurse Care Coordinator for the MOR program, and has a passion to see patients maximize their abilities and rejoin the work force. She became a Certified Hearing Conservationist in 2018, and can now offer industrial hearing screens.
