Simulation, Planning and Treatment

When you first come to the National Life Cancer Treatment Center you will receive an initial consultation and assessment of the benefits and appropriateness of radiation therapy for your particular type and stage of cancer. If your radiation oncologists decides that radiation treatments will be beneficial, this will set in motion the following steps:

  1. Simulation: First, a simulation will be scheduled in order to obtain all the necessary information to determine your placement during radiation and the amount and duraction of radiation. Learn more.
  2. Planning:  The data gathered during the simulation process is thoroughly analyzed by our oncology team (oncologist, physicist and dosimetrist)  in order to develop an accurate treatment plan. Learn more.
