Biographical Information

Dr. Austin Sumner attended Louisiana State University Medical School followed by a residency in Internal medicine and a fellowship in environmental and occupational medicine. After completing his fellowship Dr. Sumner served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention investigating occupational and environmental disease outbreaks.

Dr. Sumner has been practicing occupational medicine for 10 years and he is particularly interested in helping those who are out of work and/or have lost their way in the workers compensation system.  He enjoys working collaboratively with employers, adjusters, attorneys, vocational rehabilitation counselors and other clinical care providers to aid in worker recovery and the safe return to work.
