Berlin, Vt – Avian Inspired, a series of paintings inspired by the avian world by central Vermont artist and graphic designer Linda Mirabile, will be exhibited at THE GALLERY at Central Vermont Medical Center through March 31, 2017.
Ms. Mirabile has obviously dedicated many hours observing, studying and illustrating her knowledge of the avian world. She transcends the term “birder” with brush in hand. Her large acrylic “portraits” of hooded crows, pileated woodpeckers, egrets, ravens and a snowy owl, among many others, are expertly painted and capture beautifully the personality and presence of these feathered creatures. One gets the sense that she knows these birds well, even intimately. She paints their feathers but reveals their soul.
This exhibit is a celebration of Linda’s return to the easel after twenty years of creating exclusively as a graphic designer in her Montpelier communications firm Ravenmark. That is not to say her work there in any less inspired or accomplished but the appeal of her avian paintings brings the hope of spring to many Vermonters weary of the winter landscape. Indeed a cause for celebration!
THE GALLERY at Central Vermont Medical Center is located in the lobby of the hospital and is open every day. The work exhibited there can be purchased directly from the artist. Avian Inspired greeting cards will be available for purchase in the CVMC gift shop.
