Central Vermont Medical Center has made great progress in our Covid-19 vaccination efforts. To date, we have administered vaccine to more than 3,500 people in the State’s 1A priority category – this includes: patient-facing CVMC staff; EMS and home health team members; Woodridge Rehabilitation & Nursing residents; community health care providers; law enforcement and firefighters; and independent caregivers.
Launching this vaccination program took a tremendous amount of effort, and I want to thank the CVMC team who has worked with the State and community organizations to address the logistical hurdles that an undertaking of this magnitude presents.
We are now focusing on administering second doses to this same group of individuals. Additionally, beginning next week we will be supporting the State of Vermont’s efforts to administer the vaccine for patients and community members who are 75+ years of age.
A reminder: The only way for eligible Vermonters (75 years of age and above) to make a vaccine appointment is through the Vermont Department of Health (VDH). If you, or people you know, are eligible, visit the VDH registration page. Those unable to sign up online can make an appointment by calling 855-722-7878.
State officials have requested that those registering:
- Use the online system, if possible, to keep the phone lines from getting overwhelmed.
- When scheduling a vaccination, register for the site closest to where you live.
- Please keep your appointment. No-shows or last-minute cancellations could lead to vaccine doses being wasted.
For more information on who’s eligible and how to sign up, visit: HealthVermont.gov/MyVaccine.
CVMC remains committed to supporting your continued health and wellness. Facilitating vaccinations for our team and community members is an important way in which we do that.
If you would like to get involved in the vaccination efforts, CVMC is now hiring for temporary administrative, pharmacist, pharmacy tech, security, and vaccinator positions. To apply, simply contact Talent Acquisition Partner Katie Anderson, who will be happy to walk you through the process: Katie.Tessa.Anderson@cvmc.org or 802-371-2507.
We also encourage those with health care experience to consider volunteering for Vermont’s Medical Reserve Corps, whose members will be deployed to clinics throughout the state.
