Jason Boisvert, with wife Jessica and son Jacob, said Woodridge’s “therapists, nurses, social worker and housekeeping staff were awesome.”
When Jason Boisvert realized he’d need several months of rehabilitation after falling off a ladder, he wanted a place that felt like home. As a CVMC employee, he knew all Woodridge had to offer.
He was making progress when another surgery required he leave CVMC for a time, but the care he received at that other facility wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy.
“The place was kind of cold,” he recalled. “People would come in, bring you a drink, and then they were gone.”
He returned to Woodridge to complete three months of skilled care, regaining the independence he needed before heading home. “They helped my family and I with all the preparation, including finding the equipment and arranging for on-going care at home,” Jason said.
“What really stuck out here were the people,” he added, recalling the steady stream of friendly, caring staff taking an interest and checking in on him many times every day. “It can get lonely, and it was nice to have that opportunity to talk to people. There’s a real sense of family here.”
In the span of 10 minutes, just as they did throughout his stay, several Woodridge staffers dropped in to wish Jason well and say goodbye as he readied for discharge, delivering a few more doses of the care and connection that made Woodridge feel like his home away from home.
