Dr. Carl Nelson is a radiation oncologist in the Department of Radiation Medicine at UVM Medical Center and an associate professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His clinical and research interests include malignancies of the head and neck, central nervous system and breast as well as brachytherapy treatment for cancers of the prostate, cervix and skin.
At New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Nelson was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society and received the Stanley Bergen Medal of Excellence in academics and research. During his residency in the Radiation Oncology Department at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, he served as chief resident and received the Dean's Research Award for his publication on treatment outcomes for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in African American women.
